Silver Pines release date, platforms and price: what we know

FAQ

When does Silver Pines come out?
8 October 2026, worldwide on the same day. The date was confirmed on 1 June 2026 alongside the launch of the Steam demo.
How much will Silver Pines cost?
Unconfirmed. No official price has been published on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Xbox store or the Nintendo eShop, so any number you see is a third-party listing rather than a Team17 figure.
Is Silver Pines coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes. Switch 2 was confirmed alongside the original Switch at the release date announcement, and both are listed in the current platform lineup.
Is there a physical edition of Silver Pines?
Unconfirmed, with no evidence of one. Nintendo's own coverage describes the Switch version as released digitally on the Nintendo eShop, and no retail edition has been announced.
Will my Silver Pines demo save carry over to the full game?
No. The developer confirmed the demo save will not carry because parts of the save system were reworked for the release build.

When does Silver Pines come out?

8 October 2026, worldwide on the same day. North America and Europe share the date, so there is no staggered regional rollout to plan around.

The date was announced on 1 June 2026, the same day the Steam demo went live, and it has not moved since. Silver Pines was first revealed in October 2025, so the gap from announcement to release is just under a year.

At the time of writing the game has no published reviews. Every outlet that has covered it has been working from the demo or from hands-off and hands-on preview events, so treat launch-week review scores as the first real verdict. The IGN preview called the visual style instantly appealing while noting that monster variety in the early demo was thin.

Which platforms is Silver Pines launching on?

The launch lineup is unusually broad for a five-person studio, and it includes a current-generation Nintendo console that many indie releases skip.

Platform Status Notes
PC (Steam) Confirmed Main storefront, demo also on Steam
PC (Epic Games Store) Confirmed Listed from the June announcement onward
PC (Microsoft Store) Confirmed Xbox Play Anywhere support
PlayStation 5 Confirmed
Xbox Series X|S Confirmed
Nintendo Switch Confirmed Digital release
Nintendo Switch 2 Confirmed Announced with the release date

The Switch 2 version is the one most easily missed, because the initial October 2025 reveal only named Switch. Gematsu and VGChartz both carried the expanded list on 1 June 2026, and the Gematsu launch article remains a clean reference for the full lineup.

Publisher Team17 is handling the release, while development sits with Wych Elm, a five-person Swedish studio whose members work remotely across Sweden and Norway. Silver Pines is the team’s debut title. Their backgrounds include Helldivers 2 and the BAFTA-winning Yoku’s Island Express.

Is Silver Pines coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

Yes, and both Switch generations are supported. That is a deliberate choice rather than an afterthought: the release date press push named Switch 2 alongside PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and Nintendo-focused outlets covered the pair together.

The practical consequence is that the game’s 2.5D presentation has to scale across a wide hardware range, from a handheld that launched in 2017 to current consoles. The Steam Deck Verified result suggests the low end is comfortable, which is a decent signal for the original Switch. Nintendo Insider’s coverage of the Switch release stated that it would be “released digitally on the Nintendo eShop”, which is the strongest available pointer on the physical edition question below.

How much will Silver Pines cost?

Unconfirmed. No official price has been published anywhere: not on Steam, not on the PlayStation Store, not on the Xbox store, and not on the Nintendo eShop. Team17 has not included a figure in any press release we have seen.

Third-party key resellers currently list Silver Pines somewhere between roughly 19 and 40 US dollars depending on region and seller. Those numbers are not official and should not be treated as the launch price, because key sites routinely list games before a price exists and adjust afterwards.

[!warning] Ignore premature price claims If a page states a specific price as fact and cites a key reseller rather than Team17 or a platform store, it is guessing. The only reliable place to check is the store page for your platform, since regional pricing varies and pre-orders are not open.

Is there a physical edition of Silver Pines?

Unconfirmed, with no evidence for one. Nintendo Insider’s June 2026 article describes the Switch version as released digitally on the Nintendo eShop, and no retail or collector’s edition has been announced for any platform. There is no press release, no retailer listing and no store page for a boxed copy.

That can change late in a launch cycle, particularly for Switch titles, but planning around a physical release today means planning around something that does not currently exist. Digital is the only confirmed route on every platform.

What engine and tech does Silver Pines run on?

Wych Elm is building Silver Pines in Unity 6, specifically build 6000.0.59f2, with FMOD 2.3.7 handling audio. Both details were verified on the game’s PCGamingWiki entry on 2 June 2026, which also confirms there are no microtransactions, that Steam Cloud is supported, and that Xbox Play Anywhere applies on the Microsoft Store version.

Technical detail Value
Engine Unity 6 (build 6000.0.59f2)
Audio middleware FMOD 2.3.7
Store features Steam Cloud, Xbox Play Anywhere, Family Sharing
Microtransactions None
Rating PEGI 16 (Germany USK 16, Brazil DJEUS 14, Indonesia IGRS 18)
Single-player only Yes

The PCGamingWiki page is the best-maintained source for option-level details such as save file locations and audio sliders. One caveat it flags is that the demo lists DirectX 11 while the main game page lists DirectX 12, which is the kind of inconsistency that usually resolves in the release build.

What languages does Silver Pines support?

Ten languages, with both interface and full voice acting in each: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Latin America), Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Portuguese (Brazil) and Russian.

That is a notable scope for a debut indie release and confirms the “fully voiced, graphic novel cutscenes” bullet from the official feature list. It also creates a sharp contrast with the demo, which is English-only on both interface and voice. If you were waiting on a localised demo before deciding, it is not coming; the release build is where those options appear.

Audio options are separated into Master, Ambience, Music, Effects and Voice sliders, with subtitles supported. Those are listed on PCGamingWiki rather than in a developer post, so treat the slider set as verified-for-release but not marketing-confirmed.

Is Silver Pines Steam Deck Verified?

Yes. Valve’s Verified badge was announced on 8 September 2026, and SteamDeckHQ reported that the demo holds “60 FPS throughout the majority of the experience with a 15W battery drain” on the handheld. That is a strong result for a game with heavy 2.5D art and rotoscoped animation.

Verified status matters here because the game was not always comfortable on Deck. Earlier Steam threads include a “SteamOS hanging issue” report and a “Demo pulled from Steam Deck?” question, both from the demo’s first weeks. Note that native Linux and macOS builds are still unconfirmed, and there has been no official commitment to either. GeForce NOW licensing has also been asked about repeatedly with no response.

What can I play right now before release?

The free demo is still live on Steam as of late September 2026, and it is the only way to play Silver Pines before 8 October.

[!tip] Check the save transfer answer before you invest hours The demo does not carry over to the full game. Play it to learn the map and the combat feel, not to build a save file you intend to keep. Our demo save transfer page has the developer’s exact wording.

The demo covers the diner, the town streets and the Crimson Bear Motel, and takes most players somewhere between 90 minutes and two and a half hours. The walkthrough Part 1 picks up at the opening.

Is Silver Pines coming to Game Pass, GOG or GeForce NOW?

All unconfirmed. Community threads have asked about GOG, GeForce NOW and macOS support, and none has received an official commitment. There is no Game Pass announcement either. The confirmed storefronts are the ones in the platform table above: Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store on PC, plus the three console families.

Wishlist numbers suggest the launch will be visible. The game passed 200,000 wishlists on 19 June 2026 and 300,000 on 22 September 2026, counted across all platforms, per the official Steam news feed. That is a meaningful audience for a studio of five.
